Sorry!

I completely forgot about these images when I cancelled my .Mac account and have no backup!

Doh!

Oooo.... I've got to get some of that.....

That really is shading beyond what I would expect from an F nib. unsure.gif I suspect that your large writing is what gives it a chance to shade like that. Just for the heck of it, try reducing your writing height by half, yet retain the same pace and see if the shading isn't reduced.

An impressive and bold ink! ohmy.gif Thanks for the looksee.

Hi,

The scan above is actually a bit larger than life.

This is reduced to life size.

I have just tried writing smaller and the shading is only slightly reduced. I'll post a scan when time allows.

Thanks for the review. I've just got to try some Diamine ink sometime soon.

David, strangely enough I just finished a cartridge of Monaco Red in my Van Gogh this afternoon. It's my favorite red, though it does tend to darken as you get through a filling; not too much of a problem IMO as the darker it gets, the more I like it. I think its subtle russet colour makes its use OK in a business context, and if it was used to sign royal documents in Monaco (as the story goes), then that just underlines the point.

Roger, one of the great things about the Visconti F nib is how well it shades (assuming you like shading, that is). It seems to do this with just about any conventional ink I've put throught it.

i usually like reds I see, then don't use them much. I've seen this one and thought about buying some because it did have that warmth without being muddy. soon enough I'm going to have to get some more Diamine ink so.. maybe I'll spring for the Monaco...

i managed to "make" an ink very similar by accident bu thave no idea what was in the pen that I filled with Claret that caused it. tongue.gif

This is a nice shade of red...One that has been on my radar for a while, and now that Pendemonium will be/are restocking Diamine (as of Oct.31st) it's on my future "inks to buy" list.

Thanks for the review, djhughes!

Wow! Sure is an attractive color sample. Thanks for calling our attention to it.

Best, Ann

Wow, that's a beautifull colour.

I probably wouldn't be able to use it at work, but it's lovely.

Yes that is a definite Christmas/ Holiday red.

I'd love to use it on our Xmas cards but we've gone digital and now do photocards, actually got them done yesterday using a picture of the family sitting on the fountain in front of St Louis Cathedral in Jackson Square in New Orleans. Sort of a we're still here photo. But it's all slick paper so I'm gonna have to do small inserts if I want to use the ink laugh.gif

Ow David...

Now I've got to go and buy another bottle of ink laugh.gif ! That is a lovely red. Thaks for the pictures.

I have to say that I am pleased with these Diamine inks.

Wha? Pendemonium is restocking Diamine?! Whoa, I've been out of the loop for too long... and it hasn't even been that long! Well, I'm glad that they are, because I do like Diamine a whole lot!

I have this ink, and mine looks much different than your scan. Mine has a browner look to it - I didn't like it at first, but it's grown on me.

Geez... just when I thought that I was finally sated on the whole pen / ink thing, y'all had to give me one more reason to want that Visconti that I've been eyeing off and on for MONTHS now. tongue.gif smile.gif

Hi,

Nice, I need more Diamine! This is probably what I would use if I am sad.gif and need to draw broken hearts and stuff like that... tongue.gif

Well, might be good to correct homework. laugh.gif

Aaarrgh!
Don't like it. wallbash.gif
Wanted to find replacement for Parker Penman Ruby for when Webster's stock runs out. sad.gif
So I tried Diamine Monaco but severely unimpressed. It is very poor flowing in my Laban with a medium nib. The colour was very washed out. to double check I loaded some into my other Laban with a broad nib that has a generous flow (at least with Shaeffer Skrip). same results. blink.gif Again washed out and not very good flow.
Well disappointing.
