Have you guys seen this Pelikan limited edition pen? I was stunned to see this and is even beautiful in person. After a long time, I saw a pen which is thought differently. It really caught my attention.

Wow, looks sharp!

I want to meet the dude or dudette that carries it as a daily beater! laugh.gif

For that much money it should be, "Buy a real lighthouse and get this pen for free.

The packaging is what wins it. I get a cookie error on the original link, but if you look at the pen on Fahrney's and click the popup, you can see the packaging.

That's some gorgeous pen (and packaging), but just a tiny bit out of my price range. rolleyes.gif

Now that is a unique and pretty LE. I love the blue, stunning!

I've heard that there's 9 mediums and 17 fines left in stock at Chartpak, so if you want one, now wouldn't be a bad time.

Here's a new advertising slogan for Pelikan:

"The pen for people with more money than they know what to do with."

Ehh, it's a stunning pen. Apparently, the housing is either glass or crystal and lights up quite well.

Oh, come on...Montblanc has this title cornered. Plus, have you seen what Krone wants for some of their LE's (not to mention they're way more absurd than an old lighthouse)? And who gave Michael Perchin the right to price pens beyond the cost of a new car?

Pelikan (and this is just a personal opinion) is right on-track with thier pricing of uber-luxury jewelry pens. Having said that, there's no way on this Third Rock that I could afford even the snazzy box that thing comes in. Plus...there's no ink-view windows, so that kinda seals the deal for me!

Saw this one at the KaDeWe in Berlin last month. Lovely colors and a stunning package. However, paying this amount of money for one pen. I would choose the Pelikan "Kirin" for about half the price:

or the Pelikan "Moon Goddess":

It's funny, but my husband and I realized that we'd seen the sites of four of the seven wonders on our vacation last spring. Obviously, we weren't right where the site of the Pharos was, but I did touch some of the stones that had been moved into fortifications.

I truly love the look of this pen...and knowing it comes from Pelikan, I can only assume it writes flawlessly. But the price tag is so unfriendly it's not even funny smile.gif Even if I had that kind of money, I am not sure the pen is actually worth it or any pen for that matter...and to slash out that kind of money just as a status thing is, in my opinion, kind of silly. That said, it's a gorgeous gorgeus looking pen! smile.gif

Darn, I just bought a new bottle of ink, so I'm a little short bunny01.gif

I stumbled upon it quite by accident and checked into it further, out of curiosity. The $3200 price tag stopped me in my tracks. blink.gif I mean... c'mon. There are other Pelikans for much less that look better, like the Toledo. From a distance, it's nice but just look at the details up close. Ugg! Boring.

That's one of the funny things about great FPs (Actually it isn't funny at all).
But if I may descend for a moment to the lower ranks of a "simple" Pelikan SE pen, the same holds true for a LE too, of course.

Whew!

When I first looked at Pelikan site scans of the Polar Lights and the Sahara, I though, "Hmm, not bad. Interesting.". BUT when I had them both -- live -- in front of my own eyes, I was more amazed. Then I took the darn things into my very own hand (in my store) and even wrote a line or two after dipping the nib. Fantastic! Sometimes the scans in the net (or even the photos on paper) just don't work wonders as well as the real thing does.
BTW I bought the Sahara. I love the LEs more (I think) but just can't afford them (I know).
