Up for auction is my Saffron Blue Celluloid Fountain pen (medium nib). I used to manage the largest pen store in Iowa, and they had me back in 2000 to sell Omas pens at their annual pen show. I did it for no pay, and for fun, and they compensated me with this pen. It has been filled on a couple of occasions but does not show any wear. It has been thoroughly cleaned, and is in like new condition. It shows no scratches or blemishes anywhere. This pen is in perfect condition. It has only been carried a couple of times, and only used for signing correspondence on a few occasions. The nib shows no wear.
The Saffron is the most controversial color in the Omas catalog. This is the gold trim version which is no longer to be available. Each pen is unique in its combination of deep blue, saffron and pearlescent materials. I acquired this one in 2000. For those that know Omas celluloid pens, you know that they have the year the pen was produced etched on the pen near the nib. 2000 was the 75th anniversary of Omas pens, and this is a 75th anniversary edition. The nib has 75 on it, and there is a Greek key pattern on the right and left side of the nib. When I got this pen in 2000 it retailed for $895. This particular color is very, very rare in the U.S. It is very hard to find.
I am starting the bidding relatively low for this very hard to find pen, and am running the auction for only 1 day. Good luck bidding, and feel free to ask questions. Shipping costs includes insurance
