Hi,
I still find them in old stationery shots. Permanent Reds, Blues and Blacks, washable Royal blue all in the old solv-X formula. They are going cheap at US$2 each still. Am I crazy to buy so many bottles just because they are no longer made?
Thanks for your answer.

I have one bottle (black ink) and it works outstandingly. It's very dark, water-resistant, nicely flowing, non-feathering, etc.. I've never seen the other colors.
I assume your location precludes you from offering these to FPN members for very low prices.

Since it was so cheap, I grabbed six bottles of permanent black. The shop was pleased to get rid of them. Offered to sell me more. I have to fake disinterest, I need it because I got RSI blah blah. I probably sell some to FPN members in my country, save on postage and all the hassles I counted 12 bottles of reds. Teachers probably stopped using them long time ago.

Interesting that these are still readily available. This past week end, I went to a local auction and bought about 20 or so full bottles of Parker Quink in Permanent Red, Permanent Blue-Black, Permanent Royal Blue, Washable Blue, and a newer style bottle of Permanent Turquoise Ink. The only one Black was the V mail bottle of micro-film Black, and it appears to have about half missing due to evaporation. I was hoping for some Permanent Black, but not one bottle was with all the others.
I have been thinking about offering some of it here, on the Marketplace, perhaps in a month when the wife and I get back from vacation. Not sure what the pricing on these older Quink Solv-X 2 ounce inks should be, but perhaps around $6.00 or $7.00 or so a bottle, I would think would be fair. You see them on eBay occasionally for anywhere from $4.00 to $8.00 for a 2 ounce bottle. I haven't see many 4 ounce bottles there, on eBay, of which I obtained three from the sale I attended.
I use older Sheaffer Skrip Black almost exclusively, but I wouldn't mind trying a bottle of the older Quink, if for no other reason than just to be able to say that I have.
So I have to ask the question, where are you located? And when might we see them in the Marketplace?

If you can find Quink Solv-X inks in their original bottles, I would grab them. I should think that anyone who is into FP's or ink wells would be interested in collecting them. I have seen people pay $2 for empty bottles in order to collect them!

Since I'm hanging around the board today, I thought a few photos might be in order.

I have a stash of Quink with Solv-X in Washable Blue, Blue, Black and Blue Black. Still great ink and I use one or two colours of it every day! If I see it around I grab it, wonderful stuff. If a store has some old stock they are often open to an offer to buy up the remainder. I did this in a local newsagents store, thinking they would get new stock after I bought out their last remaining bottles of Quink and they just used it as an excuse to not stock ink any more - only Parker Cartridges

Talk about shoot yourself in the foot

Somehow I felt I am being crazy. I have almost 5 shoeboxes of inks and have more than 12 quink bottles already. But the permanent black was harder to find. Imagine my stunned response when I saw so many. The last stationer wised up and refuse to sell me any more. This time I am determined not to let the cat out of the bag and hope to snag them all.
Its not for profit though. I would love giving things to people who value them.
