LT Mac
Hello from Hawaii.
I am a frequent lurker, and thought it was about time I registered, and introduced myself.
I am an active-duty US Army Infantry officer, currently stationed in Hawaii (USA), getting ready for my next trip to Iraq. I am a fairly recent fountain pen owner. After years of using my parents' Montblanc and Waterman, I decided it was time to make the jump. I currently have a Namiki Vanishing Point and a Lamy Safari italic. It looks like a couple more Safaris and a Parker 51 off eBay may be my next purchases.

If anyone knows of any fountain pen shops (other than Montblanc) on the island of Oahu, please let me know--paying shipping here is really cramping my style.

Hi, Mac. Welcome to FPN!

Afraid I don't know Hawaii, but might ask HDoug, I think he's around there somewhere.

Next trip to Iraq? Saddens me to see multiple tours there. Stay safe, come home safe. And, thank you.

Morning LT - and welcome -

Thank you for your service to the 27th Infantry, and to our country. Warriors like you make me proud to be an American.

Your Vanishing Point may be ideal for the sands of Iraq - that little auto-closing trap door may keep the sand out.

When you get your men squared away, send us an email so we can stay in touch.

Kick butt in the desert - then bring yourself and your men home safe.

Im thinking that a few Lamy Safaris might do the trick. I really wouldnt want sand to clog the Vanishing Point, plus the italic makes Arabic look great.
