The color didn't scan very well, but here they are...

(edit: I tried correcting the color on the pics. I think these are closer to the original color.)

The color would best be described as a pinkish - lavender...

Thanks for the review -- I have PR Tanzanite, so I can extrapolate from there!

Looks really pale.... I would expect that of Herbin before Noodlers. Usually Nooder's are pretty saturated.

Well, hrm. I figured it might be too light. I have a bottle on the way that I ordered over the weekend. I'm going to give it a shot, though. I really wanted a purple that was bulletproof, this was the closest other than Iraqi Indigo (which I don't care for). I'm hoping my like for laying down a wetter line will be ok.

I'm supposed to be getting some of this as a gift soon, but I wonder if my monitor's totally off, because I see no pink in there whatsoever! The Iraqi Indigo looks pretty close to what I see in person though, so maybe the pinkness is subtle?

I've got some and it is indeed a hot pink/purple. The pink is not subtle. I wrote about a sentence with it and I rinsed it out of my pen to remove any evidence that I had actually used the ink. So, not a big fan. I still have the bottle and trying to think of a use for it (mix with something, or some kind of special effects or if I learn to draw with a pen I can use it to depict a neon sign for a naughty underwear shop or something).

rotfl! Oh my. Well, maybe I can add a little more blue to it. Do you suppose Luxury Blue will help at all? Or Polar Blue?

You may be right about that. I'll let you know my results after I play and do some mixing.

Tried tweaking the pic a bit. This appears a bit closer to the actual swabs.

The only other Noodler's Russian I've tried is Pasternyet -- I mean Pasternak. I posted a scan here. It too is very pale. Maybe Nathan's still got some hard feelings over that Cold War thing...

Well, I got my bottle of the Lermontov tonight. It definitely has a pinkish cast, but not quite neon. I don't think of it as purple, but it looks a lot like fuchsia. I don't much care for fuchsia. I had a textbook in that color in high school. I covered it. The ink looks a bit too chalky to me, too. And it feathered a lot. I'll keep it, but I probably won't use it that often.

You might be on to something there. Certainly, one cannot accuse Nathan of being colour-less lticaptd.gif

Though this is a horrible pic with lots of noise, I think this shows the color fairly well.
