I know this has been asked about 100 times...
Does anyone have an arrow for a Parker 61, a silver one to go on my gray 61.
I am willing to trade a parts 61 with a cracked body.
Worst case scenario, tell me how to get the arrow out of the parts pen I have...

Tom,

Last time I needed an arrow it came right off the donor hood in the ultrasonic bath after a few long runs..

The problem isn't usually getting them to come off, it's usually keeping them on!

A reliable way to get the arrow to come off is to ink up the pen and use it for a few years.. Though ultrasonics seem a good bet too.

I have read a few times that P61s shouldn't go in an ultrasonic cleaner as the arrow drops off, so seems the way to go. I have also had them drop off a couple of pens, one was lost the other I managed to stick back with a tiny amount of epoxy resin.

One of my favourite daily users, a 61 flighter lost its arrow last week just removing the cap gone, where was it in the cap, as i tapped the cap on the palm of my hand out it came during the momentum of cap tapping tapped once more and put a bend in the arrow crybaby.gif . I loved that pen.

Oh what a shame.
Try to straighten the arrow by putting it concave side up on a table and rolling a small diameter steel bar in the concave side, parallel to the pen's main axis - rather like a rolling pin on some pastry. With luck this'll flatten the bend without flattening the curvature of the arrow. Then try sticking it back in.
It's very possible that staightening the bend will stretch the gold of the arrow enough that it won't fit in the recess, so be prepared to do a tiny amount of filing with a very fine file.
I have done this once myself, and it did work eventually.

Regards

Richard.
