Hello Everybody,

I am a fellow fountain pen user who discovered this forum while searching the web for fountain pen resources.

I have been playing around with fountain pens off and on for the past 30 years and have lately taken a much renewed interest in them. I believe the exposure of new pens and inks has greatly been helped by the internet as a source of information.

I have a modest collection of mostly Sheaffer with some other makes like Parker, Waterman and Cross. I hope to try some of the highly regarded european makes like Aurora and Pelikan in the near future.

Welcome... I joined the group recently also and have found it to be one of the friendliest forums I have ever been too...
Where in Maryland.... Western Maryland Cow Country (Washington County) here... where a recent census found there are more cows than people... tongue.gif tongue.gif

Hello Old Griz,

I live on the eastern side of the state around near BWI airport (Anne Arundel County). Western Maryland is very beautiful and devoid of the political inanities of living within earshot of the beltways. The only problem is the drive into work would kill me if I had to drive regularly into work from Washington County.

I do visit the Western part of the state regularly and have some friends that call it home. Very peaceful and scenic living and more to my liking. Maybe when I get within spittin' distance of retirement I can put up stakes out there laugh.gif

Thank you again for the kind welcome to this forum.

Regards,

Bill

Welcome aboard SigP228! Glad you found us and am quite sure you'll enjoy the place. There are many experts in every area of FPs here, so it's a treasure trove of knowledge. Also a huge source of temptation to buy more FPs / inks / related items as you will be exposed to many great pens and inks. It's a wonderful place to hang out - enjoyed it quite a bit myself in the last half-year or so.

Tell us a bit more about yourself - what's in your collection (specific models)? Also, I gather you're a firearm enthusiast from your username. Nice gun. Had a P229 in .357SIG for a while myself.

See ya around!

Hiya Bill,

You Terps are takin' over! biggrin.gif Well, you've stumbled into a great board. It'll occupy you for as much of your time as you see fit, so settle in with the troops and enjoy! smile.gif

Hi Bil,

Welcome to FPN! biggrin.gif

Isn't the Internet great? I've always wondered how fellow fountain pen enthusiasts kept in touch (other than via mail, of course) without pen boards and pen shows and the like? It must have been quite an isolated hobby, except for local pen clubs....and then how did people find other collectors?

Nice to have you onboard. There are a lot of Pelikan enthusiasts here, so I am sure you will get an earful about the fine qualities of the pens. smile.gif
