I've been intrigued by discussion of Danitrio pens. I hadn't heard of them before. What do you think are the good and bad points (of the less expensive, not Maki-e, etc, but 14k nib) Danitrios?

Where are the best places to get them? I'm surprised that most of the major sellers don't carry them.

Thanks!

Erick, there are a couple of vendors who carry Danitrio pens. I buy mine from Kevin Cheng, aka "winedoc," (www.internetpens.net) who is a member here. Kevin's customer service is excellent.

Please note that Kevin has said that the manufacture of new raw ebonite pens is temporarily suspended because the Dani manager who is in charge of them is still very ill. You can always contact Kevin to see what Danis he has in stock. Also watch the Markerplace where Kevin posts good sales from time to time.

Good luck. I have found Dani pens to be worth the effort to find them.

I think the biggest source of DaniTrio pens is our own winedoc, however, other dealers have also surfaced, such as trojoe. I've only purchased them from winedoc, and can confirm everything that has been written about his customer service and support.

right now, if you do a search on ebay for "DaniTrio fountain pen", you get a few listings, most from trojoe, and most for the celluloid pens with steel nib.

Good luck, I, and many others agree they are a great value in the fountain pen world.

ps no affiliation with any of the ebay auctions, or either seller I mentioned.
I am not a number
The seller if you are doing a search is "triojoe". I have bought from him and he is great to work with, but then again so is Kevin. The choice is yours!

I am both sellers. And their friends. I own Paypal. I invented toast.

Yup, no affiliation and a little bit bored with certain aspects of my day job...

Another source for Danitrio pens is this. I have not does business with them, but they have an interesting site. My lone Danitrio is a Tac Carry II I got from Winedoc. I want another, and maybe another besides that one, and maybe one more for good luck thumbup.gif .

The seller Donnie refers to is Ray Adams at Wood 'n Dreams. I have purchased a Danitrio pen from him as well as two from Kevin Cheng (winedoc). Both sellers are excellent people to deal with.

I don't know about all Danitrio pens, but I have two Densho's; a raw ebonite and a Tamenuri urushi - both are wonderful pens. Kevin (winedoc) was the vendor for both and I can personally attest to his customer service; it is very good.

I bought a Dani from Winedoc. The whole experience was quite pleasant.

He was quick to answer all my questions about a second pen of a different style (size, weight, etc.). He also had gold nibs as well as the steel ones.

In the end, I really love the feel of my Dani celluloid. It's probably my biggest pen.
