To finance a purchase of a bassoon (Heckel) my beloved wife is actually thinking of parting with her Lorenzo Medici, #3763. She bought it new at a pen shop in Tokyo while working over there; nice bonus gift, I guess! We do have the box and papers although I don't know whether we have the original Japanese receipt or not. I can check on that. The pen has been inked but barely used.

My question is- how much is this pen worth and what is the best forum for selling it? I am very leary of eBay for a variety of reasons.

I appreciate any input!

I am not at all good at pricing pens for resale. May I suggest you contact a pro? I would recommend Dennis Bowden at Parkville Pens. He will treat you right. And if he can't help you he will know who can.

Fountain Pen Hospital was asking 6400$ for one in October and they sold it within a couple of weeks. I'm sure they could help you out selling yours.

If you can afford to or don't need to sell it Don't. Beyond the fact that it is a highly desired pen, it is beautiful and timeless and not easily replaceable.

I agree with Brian 100%. Besides being the most desirable of all modern MB, its price curve is likely to accelerate and cross the $10k threshold pretty soon. It's better than stocks nowadays...

I do very much appreciate the input thus far!
