Pen Nut
Just a quick one.

Yet again my Mb 162 'Marathon' lticaptd.gif refill has run out and it got me sort of thinking as to what is actually in these refills.

I suspect, though could be wrong, that the ink therein is a thicker consistencey than your average fountain pen ink but having played around refilling all forms of cartridges with all manner of inks, divorce pending!, I am curious as to know if this type of ink is readily available on the open market as I would like to attempt to refill my own.

Any info would be appreciated.

Regards

Ian.

So you want to refill a rollerball unit? Hmmm. Maybe a pigmented ink that we dare not put in a fountain pen? Sanford's pigmented rollerball and gel inks (advertised as fraud-resistant) don't seem to be for sale in bulk. On the other hand, many, if not most, bottled drawing inks are pigmented. How about taking a pigmented drawing ink that is advertised as "safe for fountain pens" (the truth: only if you flush the pen at the end of the drawing session!) and putting it in a "capless" (spring forcing the ball against the aperture) rollerball unit?
