A little about me - I have a few nice pens, but wouldn't call myself a serious collector. I get what intrigues me and falls within the budget of the moment.
I like to write with fountain pens and have gotten so that my hand cramps easily if I use a ball point.
My handwriting is my own biggest disappointment in an otherwise very rewarding and satisfying hobby.
My favourite pens:
older Parker 51 demi
Harley-Davidson badged pen, made in France but don't know much about it. Sure writes nicely.
Visconti Opera
I happened across this forum whilst perusing the web for pen info. I don't suppose I have much to contribute in the way of witty banter or pen wisdom, but plan to drop in from time to time and read the posts and look at the pictures.
My latest acquisition (bought it today) is posted in the picture section. I took its picture before I even filled it with ink.

Welcome to FPN. We're not all high end collectors. Many of my pens are inexpensive Chinese pens. They write and look nice. Those are my primary concerns. It's a tie for my most expensive pen between a Retro 51 Tornado and a Waterman Phileas. So, you can see my pens are not that expensive.

Thanks for the welcome!
Also nice to know there's room for pen lovers of all kinds.
As for high-end, my favourite pens to write with are not always my most expensive ones, but generally not my least either.
My Parker 51 cost me about $65 at an antique fair and ranks right up there.
We used to be able to get disposable fountain pens in the University bookstore that were great, even though non-refillable.
My new Pelikan is going to be very enjoyable. It's so light! I filled it with green ink and have been making notes with it all day today.
Great hobby.

Hi dbh and welcome in.
I've got some fun memories of the Edmonton Mall including being in a bar there and getting a rubber chicken (which we called Colin Prentice) airborne with a hundred or so "borrowed" helium-filled balloons.

Thank you! Good to be here.
It's a unique experience for me to hang out with pen lovers.
Friendly folk, and I'll put that in writing.
Cheers.
