I just picked up today. I hope you enjoy it.

Wasn't this the one with Babe Ruth on the bottle? If so it looks too green to be Yankee blue.

Thanks for another good review.

I also cannot figure where Noodler's names come from. What is "pinstripe" about this ink? It is a very strange color to my eye, not blue and not green. While I can say what it isn't, I'm not entire sure what it is. Thank you for the insight.
Nellie
I think the colour looks really nice - thanks for this cool review.

This is one of them. I hope someone can shed some light on the name/color selection.

Thanks for the feedback.

I love the color. Is it waterproof?

There is no indication on the box or label that indicate it as waterproof.

Hmm... this one might be going in the ink buying cue.

Thanks for the review. Any chance of getting a larger scan size?

"Pinstripe" is the slang to describe a member of the New York Yankees since they wear pinstriped jerseys when they play at home in New York.

The Babe Ruth reference and the "made is Massachusetts" link in that Ruth played for the Red Sox as a star pitcher before being sold by the Red Sox (the biggest rivalry of all) owner in 1920 to the Yankees for cash. He became the game's bigger star outfielder for over a decade after that.

My confusion is the color- the Yankees use very dark blue and white for their home uniforms, and have for many years. I wonder about the green elements. I wonder if the "made in Massachusetts" business and the odd green color are jabs at the Yankees and their fans. I could be mistaken about that.

However, that little dark blue tile next to the bottle in the picture would be the proper color for the Yankees. The writing sample above, which is much greener, would be off.

Hello everyone,

This a second scan after shaking the bottle:

This is the original scanned review:

It bears a resemblance to Noodlers Legal Lapis sold at Pendemonium.

I tried this ink a few days ago and found it very "wet" in my pen, which almost slipped off the page when I first wrote.

I am not tremendously experienced in different inks but the glide on this ink surprised me very much.

The color is quite nice -- mine was bluer than the scans -- without any heavy green tint.

It is not my favorite ink, but I have yet to see how it may work in toothier nibs. It is not a blue-black but a dark blue with a pleasing tone. Shading was relatively minimal.

Art Brown huh? Now you're getting into my pocket, because I like this ink.
Thanks for the review.

My bottle of Noodlers "Pinstripe" came yesterday, and quite frankly I'm disappointed. I was expecting a nice blue ink, with a tinge of green; this ink is green. I may as well be using the "Verdun" I have had in my daily carry pen for the last X years. The variation of Noodlers colors suggest a who cares attitude in the quality control of their ink color mixes. Don't get me wrong, I still think many of Noodlers inks are great, I just wish they were more consistent. One more note; I wrote a full page using this color, a couple other bulletproof inks and two colors of Skrip, and let them dry. As expected the Skrip washed nearly totally out, The surprise was that the "Pinstripe" had the same staying power as the other bulletproof inks. Now to see what it does to my clear demonstrator..
Best regards, Ken.

I wonder if Noodler's is getting to the place where there are not easily differentiated colors?

OK, In the sense of fairness, I have to take it back-partly...
We had a sun break a couple minutes ago, so I took a writing sample outside. In bright sunlight (as bright as it gets in Washington State in October:-) I could tell the difference between Verdun and Pinstripe. Not a lot of difference, but it's there. I guess I need to campaign for "dairy farmer blue pinstripe". For those of you who remember when dairy farmers all seemed to wear bib overalls with blue stripes, you know the color I'm talking about..

Did you shake the bottle? Makes a BIG difference with many of the Noodler inks. See the OPs revised scan and comments.

Yep, I have enough Noodlers that I gave it a good shaking before I filled the pen. I don't think shaking should be necessary, but I am a realist.
