If I have missed something, please forgive this message. However, I am curious:

What is the status of the new FPN blue ink?

I've asked that a bottle of Tulip Noir be set aside and that a bottle of the new blue ink be sent at the same time (so as to save shipping costs). I hadn't heard anything in a couple of months so thought I should inquire the status of things.

David,

Elaine will be/is working on the FPN Blue project. She took a couple of trips and was away for quite awhile. Keep checking back, there should be something posted on this fairly soon.

Best, Ann

Thanks!
Elaine
I have just recently caught up with all the pending ink orders after my trip. I will be starting to work on the blue in earnest (NOT Ernst! I'll save him for the pink) after the Philly show next weekend. I will bring the blue samples with me and perhaps get some opinions. If you're there, stop by my table and take a look!

I know the FPN inks are for sale in the Marketplace Forum, but might there be a way to cross post that information here in the Inky Thoughts forum? I see a lot of questions about it, and when I was looking for it originally, I headed here first (basically because it was ink, and an FPN exclusive). Marketplace is the right spot, yes, but it isn't quite like the other trades/sales that Markeplace sees. Or, maybe a stickied post here just titled FPN Exclusive Inks and then some info written up about them and a link to the marketplace ordering info. Just a thought.

That's exactly the sort of thing I was just going to suggest. I was thinking they might call it "FPN Exclusive Inks - Frequently Asked Questions". Perhaps it could link to the ordering information thread, the reviews threads, and contain a short bit of update on the status of the blue ink for those who want to ask a question like this one.

I'm referring this to the admins--(cross posting is usually discouraged.) The reason we have the Index of Ink Reviews is so that members can find any reviews of inks easily. There's a separate section in the Noodler's reviews for FPN exclusives.

The mods will confer about a sticky in Inky Thoughts.

That's terrific! Thank you!

I won't be in Philadelphia but rather in America's deep freeze (otherwise known as America's great plains). At least the sun is out and the dogs are enjoying the snow. They have fur coats (the kind animal rights activitists don't object to).

Hope you get some good comments in Philly.

You're quite welcome.

Elaine, not to rush you or anything, but I bought a new pen and decided to make it my FPN blue pen.

Now, I'm like a drug addict, jonesin for NEW INK!!!!! (I'm not sure how to spell jones-in so if I've misspelled that slang word, please forgive)

I need my new ink, like really, REALLY bad.

By the way, it is one of Bexley's "Celebration" series pens, "Independence Day" which is a red, white, and blue pen. Really nice. Dennis at Parkville Pens got it for me before the price goes up because of the rise in the cost of gold and the weakness of the dollar. The nib is German so the dollar/Euro exchange rate will force a price increase (if anybody else is thinking about a Bexley with a gold nib, NOW is the chance to get it -- and I mean NOW).

So, Elaine, I really need my FPN blue ink! I've got a pen here that's itchin' to be written with!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks, Elaine!

I appreciate having that cross link also. I forget to check the marketplace, and don't want to miss the blue.

BTW, are the tulip and brown all sold out now?

I believe they are still available. Send an email to the address provided in the link, they'll let you know.

Personally, I hope they never run out of Galileo Manuscript Brown. I really like it and have a hunch it will be the one ink I go through fairly quickly.

I don't think the FPN inks are conceived as limited editions, are they? I think there is no guarantee that once a batch sells out, there will be another. At the same time, there is no rule that says there cannot be. I'd imagine that the admins or their agent (Elaine?) would make that call given the perceived interest in more ink of that color, the sales rate for the ink sold from the last batch, and things of that nature.

Yes, it is an exclusive ink, exclusive to FPN, but not an LE. If enough people ask for it when the current batch is sold out, we'll order a new batch, or rather, Elaine will smile.gif.

The same is true for any other FPN inks we will produce or already do.

HTH, warm regards, Wim

I'M GETTING ANXIOUS AGAIN. I'VE GOT A PEN THAT'S BEGGIN' FOR BLUE! FPN BLUE!

I'M HEARING THOSE VOICES AGAIN. THEY'RE COMING FROM A PEN BOX!

THE VOICES SAY, "PUT INK IN ME AND WRITE SOMETHING!" I'M BEGGING TO ACHIEVE MY PURPOSE IN LIFE. LET ME DRAG MY NIB ACROSS A PIECE OF PAPER! I CAN'T STAND BEING A VISUAL OBJECT MUCH LONGER! I LIVE TO WRITE!!!!!!!!

Seriously, how's it coming on the FPN blue project?

Gag the pen, and you should be ok. It should set an example for the other pens. Show them whos the boss!

Sorry, people, but there is a bit of a backlog when it comes to ink related stuff. Unfortunately, Elaine has not been very well for a few weeks now. We do hope she recovers soon.

Warm regards, Wim
Jarno
I was going to send you a message about this, Wim. I sent a message to buy some ink, but haven't gotten a reply yet. This clears it up.
Let's hope Elaine will get well soon.

Regards,

Jarno.
