Hi,

Thanks for the writing sample and review.
I prefer the script. In fact, individuality as expressed in the peculiarities of one's script is more interesting to me than neatness.

Hello,

I thought I was the only one who used graphed paper for writing. Glad to see I am not alone on this. Nice pen and nice handwriting.

I normally don't use graph paper for writing, but I don't do much writing either. I brought a pad because I remember seeing one of my teacher's notes written on graph paper and it was so NEAT!

i like graph paper - Rhodia specficially. it seems to reign in my handwriting most times.

like others, I like your script. It's perfectly legible and IMO, just as neat and easy to read as your printing. I'm not a fan of print. I have a handwriting that is something like a cross between printing and italic that I use a lot but have been using a running hand script more lately and really think it's more appealing though not necessarily more legible.

I Love Rhodia! The box lines are such a pretty purple and their paper is pretty bright and high quality as well smile.gif

Hero 329s can be had for $4.99 at www.isellpens.com. Mind you, there will be shipping to add to that. Apparently shipping is $3, so compare $7.99 to $6, or get two for $12.98 vs. $12. Not too much more expensive. Not affiliated with isellpens.com, but they do well serving the value-conscious fountain pen user. They come highly recommended by people I respect. Those Wality piston fillers or better yet eyedroppers look pretty intriguing to me...

I actually just purchased a Hero 100 from www.isellpens.com and waiting for it to arrive. I saw some other sites selling the Hero 330 for $15!

My local import store carries the D-top which is a very smooth writer for an EF nib. The only problem I have is the barrel is a bit too large to be comfortable in my (psychological) grip. It just feels too fat and not weighted enough for "thickness to balance and weight" ratios (it is made of plastic, right?) The most remarkable thing about the pen is how well it holds ink. Although the nib is not hooded, a quick dip in the pot will produce several lines of writing and not dry out for a few minutes. The second most remarkable is how smooth it is for an EF pen.

A great workhorse pen.

Hi moppie,
Thanks for the handwritten reviews!
Yes, there are many inexpensive fountain pens out there that write great. One of the smoothest fountain pens I've found is also a Pilot, but it is a disposable <shudder> Pilot V-Pen

Yes, the Pilot D-Top is made of plastic and a thin metal feel for the center. I like how the pen is light and how it looks so simple but yet makes such an awesome find and smooth line.

The only thing I don't like is that it can only take cartridges. I asked the store if I can use a converter and I can't. I'm looking for a more "real" and a bit pricier fountain pen that can produce that same fine line and smoothness. Unfortuately, it's no luck with the US pens so far.

I have a V-Pen. I think mines look better than the new ugly gray ones that are for sale now. Mine's entire body is black...Simple is much better.

The Pilot Petit1 disposable fountain pens are awesome though! And CUTE.

Where can I purchase a Pilot D Top in the US?

Really! Did they say why noy? The body of the pen looks plenty big enough to fit the pressbar converter.

And to the guy who was looking for where to buy one in the USA:
MaiDo 378 Santana Row, #1125 San Jose, CA 95128 Ph. 408.213.1985. Give them a call if you can't find a Kinokuniya Bookstore around you http://www.kinokuniya.co.jp/english/contents/network04.html

Most kinokuniya's have a stationary section.
