Does the Pelikano work with a converter? Also, how do you tell which pens don't (like the Future)

Also, what's keeping the Future from taking one?

I have a Pelikano Junior and a Future. Both work with the Pelikan converter. The only problem I had with the Future is that the converter doesn't feel very secure, like it would come out easily when you don't want it too. I've read of several people having them fall out with ink going everywhere. I tried all the other converters I have, but none would fit. I have read of other converters that do fit (and actually fit better than the Pelikan), but I don't have any (yet).

My 1988 Pelikano works beautifully with a Lamy Safari/Al-Star Converter. It fits snugly and you don't have to hold it in while you're filling the pen. I don't know if all Pelikanos are the same size though, but it may be worth a shot.

Thanks, could I have ruined the piercing tube by cramming a converter in?

I just tried swapping converters between a Pelikano Jr and a Waterman pen. The Pelikan converter fits the Waterman pen just fine (though maybe slightly less secure than the Waterman converter), but the Waterman converter doesn't fit the Pelikano at all. I believe the tube that punctures the cartridges on the Pelikano is slightly larger in diameter than the opening on the Waterman converter so that it can't be attached. The opening in the Pelikan converter is slightly larger.

I doubt that you would have ruined the piercing tube / nipple on the feed unit by trying to push a converter on--won't say it couldn't happen, but think it's unlikely. The Lamy converter that fits my Pelikano is a Z24 model, BTW.

Yep isn't it annoying how the shoulders inside of the section are just a tiny bit off from one manufacturer to another. I know that some pens just will not take a MB international cartridge

while others will just take whatever generic cart. you have.

Thanks! I checked the tube, looks ok, but the cart I've been using is loose
