I've been with my company for 10 years now (Keeeee-ripes! That's a long time...), and my 10-year Service Award is coming up (yay). I never used my 5-year award, so that means I've got $300 in the kitty.

Now, I'm SORELY tempted to get the new Lego Mindstorms NXT and a couple extra sensors, just 'coz it looks to be the coolest thing ever made...

But I could just as easily spend it on a pen. Or two.

Whatchya got for $300 delivered to my door? I know, ridiculously vague question, but I'm hoping someone will pop up with something I can't resist. My use pens have been almost exclusively Modern of late, though I've been leaning vintage lately, specifically Waterman's, but I'm incredibly flexible/fickle. Haven't picked up a Vac in a while...

Anyway- looking for a "special" pen to mark the milestone and to spend my free money. Gimme a holler!

First suggestions OK, but not quite on the mark (doubt I'd get clearance for #1)....

I'd prefer a cheap medium myself, but.....oh....wait...... unsure.gif

Seriously, though, congratulations on your achievement (even 10 years is rare these days) and enjoy the pen!!

As far as a recommendation, how about Pencraft? Brian makes fantastic pens. He'll help you custom design your pen (size, style, nib choice, color, material type, furniture, etc.) For $300 you could get a unique pen custom-made to your specs with a very nice nib. He'll even tune your nib before shipping. Nearly endless choices with his pens.

Well I am a complete novice at this , reccomending pens. Seems everyone here has a Sailor or a Pelikan. However I like the idea of those Nakana pens from Japan. They are crafted, you have to answer their questions, so the pen is made to fit you and your style of writing and they will last generations. Not sure if they have a clip or not but for that price you don't want the chance of losing it by falling out of your pocket.
Anyway that is my small contribution

I've never met a Broad that's been cheap to run...*

Having dealt with Brian, my initial reaction would be that it's definitely worth investigating some sort of specially commissioned work. It should be something to mark the event, you're quite lucky, when I left the RAF after 16 years they asked for the watch back!

* By which I obviously mean that they get through a lot of ink.

I doubt you could find one in the price range, but a blue/green ripple #7 would be pretty stellar. smile.gif
