I bought the Delta DVOS about a year ago and its one of my favorite pens.
I never used it as an ED only used it with the converter and I would love to know did any of you used it as an ED.
1.For how long did the ink last you ?
2.Did the ink effected the red colour of the barrel ? Did it amber it or had no effect at all.

I have related before that I have and love a Dolce Vita O/S. Mine came with an eye dropper, and I does have a rubber seal around the section. However, I have not used it as an eye dropper at all. I don't intend to use it as such. I just don't care to do that, although I have assumed I could. The staining of the celluloid has only recently arisen as an issue, and I am curious, too, whether anyone has experienced any staining.

I have mine for a month now, but I am using it with a cartridge. Don`t know if I want to try it as an ED.
I would use a non-staining ink (pelikan Blue, Watermanse etc.)
The pen is acrylic not celluloid.

I have an Dolce Vita OS, but I have not used it as an eyedropper, not because I am afraid of it staining, because I doubt it would. Rather I do not use it as an eyedropper because I do not write with it enough.
I also have a Delta Lugdunum LE that came out in the late 90s. It, like the Dolce Vita OS, has the rubber gasket and can be used as an eyedropper. Its size is much closer to the Dolce Vita medium pen, so it holds substantially less ink than the OS. When I got it, I tossed the converter, and I used it as an eyedropper exclusively. I did this for about five years in graduate school. It was my only fountain pen, and I did lots and lots of writing every day. I wrote my dissertation with it, literally.
My experience with the Lugdunum was 1) it did not stain at all, and I used Parker Penman ink it almost exclusively, which is a rather saturated ink; 2) even though I wrote with it everyday, it took forever to get it to the point of refilling it. In fact, I like fiddling with my pens at least once in a while. If I filled that pen, it would be weeks before I needed to fill it again. So I do not use the Dolce Vita as an eyedropper because I would want to fiddle with it -- flush the nib and feed or switch inks, that sort of thing -- long before it needed a refill. I find it's good to rinse out and clean the nib and feed of a pen once in a while.
So, I'd say, with the Dolce Vita OS, you could go a long, long time without refilling -- more than you might want to -- and it probably would not stain if you stayed away from the typical colors that stain -- reds, oranges, and vibrant purples.
There's my 2cents.

I used it as an eyedropper. And yes, I used almost half bottle of ink.
It lasted for a week or so (but I write a lot).
Because I used black ink (Parker Quink) and the light couldn't go throuhg, the orange body was not so orange anymore, when ink was inside.
But when I washed it after use, it was as shiny as before. No stains on the material at all.
And since I have problems with converters (the feed stops now and then) I think I will use my Dolce Vita as an eyedropper again. The feed is perfect, no problems with empty cartidges and converters, and above all when you load the pen, you notice that ink level in bottle considerably dropped.

Thank you for the reply. It nice to hear a testemony of somebody that actualy put ink in the barrel.
Now I know if I decide ever to use my DVOS as an eye dropper that it will not stain.
