I saw this on eBay last night and once in December but reserve was not met either time.

Does this nib look correct? I have seen earlier safeties with a MB nib, not simply "warrented"

Thanks,
Tony

I can't find the photo I remember seeing, but I have seen photos of early MB safety pens with Warranted nibs, and remember reading that they came from the factory that way.

Thanks. The only photos I could find were early MB nibs and they were earlier pens than this. I think the 302 and 304 were near the end of MB safeties, 1930ish or so.

I've got a few older MBs now, 1950s to 1970s and all are nice writers and in the theme of all my pens....black. Not much on bright pens.

Hi,

Actually, the "b" nib is correkt for a pen with the inscription number "b" on the blind cap / turning knob (1932-1934). But Montblanc used some of these nibs also on the later 304 Safeties.

The 304 is a pen with an engraved Star on the cap top (outline, no white star) and belongs to the third line of pens within the produktion range. It was made between 1935 and 1937.

What in interesting bit of historical MB information. I would never have thought that was the correct nib. But, considering it being the 3rd class line of pens it certainly makes sense. I would not have expected Warranted in English though. This is such a great forum and thanks for all the info.
