Well, I just got my first Italian FP, an Ipsilon Aurora in yellow. I am definitely impressed.

. . . if you ever decide you simply must rid yourself of the Voyager, I suppose I could be persuaded to do you a favor and take it off your hands wink.gif.

After seeing your own collection, and seeing how nicely you keep your pens and enjoy each one, I would simply give it to you if I ever dare to think of selling it. I promise...

No, no, I couldn't possibly...

Well, on second thought... smile.gif

My last purchase by the way was a Graf von Faber-Castell -- so not Italian, but wonderful nonetheless. I bought it after reading a review you wrote up back in 2005 or 2006, I think. I'm now officially on a pen-buying moratorium. We'll see how long it'll last. smile.gif

Not that my answer would pertain in any way to the topic of this thread, but I am happy that you like your Graf. I have the GvFC in pernambucco and it's a wonderful pen (and in retrospect I would not recant any of the many good things that I mentioned in said review).

Regarding the pen-buying moratorium, I am on one as well! Have been sucessful for the last 4 ["four" sic!] months. Actually, I think this is partly due to espresso making, a new hobby that has absorbed a great part of my freetime. With the monetary potential lurking behind all these fancy machines, though, I regret that instead of excercising containment, I have just opened up Pandora's box once again with a new costly hobby. crybaby.gif

Thanks for expressing your pen envy with respect to my collection (no Freudian implications intended lticaptd.gif ). I feel honored.

You have a lot of beautiful italian pens, modern and vintage. My italian collection is very little. I will shot a pic with them all in one, and other pics separated by color of the pens. But of course it is just to try to be like yours, also if I have no possibilities.
georges zaslavsky
I will post the three italian pens I got: 2005 Omas Arte Italiana Paragon, 2002 Omas 360 Colonial and 1997 Omas 360 Magnum. All three have some of the most flexible I have written with. I don't write them anymore. I mostly write with my vintage Parkers or my MBs. I am however looking for a nice Omas celluloid but I have other priorities so I stopped collecting Italian pens for a while.

It'd been a long time since I came and looked at this thread. My bank account is telling me why. Lord, those are some beautiful collections. How on earth do you all decide what to write with?

And Roberto, a specific one for you. How old are those vest pocket pens?

Here's my small collection of mostly Italians. Sorry for the pic of MB which I know is not Italian! Hope you enjoy.

Yes it is called something else but I don't know it. I bought it from a dude on ebay for some euros so I don't know if it is original or not, but compared to the original Montegrappa Siusi it seems having same quality except for the nib, that in this white pen is awful.
ethernautrix
Wow, loving these collections. For someone who had an Italian surname for a while, not having an Italian pen in her collection is either an oversight or (something else). (I've got my eye on a Visconti. Maybe.)

I am loving (read: coveting) those safeties. I think it was Roberto's post. SahWEET!

Yeah I saw that pen on ebay and was tempted to buy it but was using the idea that...TOO good to be true then it must not be true. So I'm not sure whether to go back and see if I can buy one....How bad is the nib? Is there anyway to replace it? Just some ideas. Maybe you can replace it or something.

It was a nice day yesterday so I snapped some pics outside. Here's a group of Delta Lever Filling Limited Editions from my collection. I love Delta lever fillers. Great size and weight (big but not overly heavy), beautiful nibs, unusual trim, and very reliable. From left to right:

Pompeii (celluloid)
Collosseum
Nazareth 2000
20th Anniversary Edition
Maasai
Native American
Tuareg (Very underrated, IMO. Nice shape and size, and this one has a great factory stub.)
Indios
La Citta Reale (celluloid)
Caruso (celluloid)

Ones that got away- I had an Inuit lever filler, but prefer the pen with the silver trim, so now I have the cartridge filling version. Also, the Nazareth 2000 is #2. Had one which I sold several years ago, which I missed greatly. Luckily, this one came along last year, at a good price and with a fantastic Minuskin stub to boot. When I originally sold the Nazareth I also let my Venezia go. I still miss that one...

I think my favorite material is the Pompeii. They're all great though!

Yes, the clip on the Tuareg is a sword. There's a c/c version that's unusual in that it has bands of white resin for the cap and barrel bands instead of the sterling silver trim on the lever filled version.

That's because that particular one is a rollerball, and that is where they put the clip for RB's. They also had a limited edition Journal that was in a cream color, and actually had clips on the cap and body...

Doug C, thanks for posting a pic of a Ponte Vecchio. I have two of the three colors that Visconti made. I like the pens, though they are quite small. They are excellent quality and write well. I am surprized that I never, bar none never, see these pens depicted or for sale. Are they so rare?

Unfortunately, I am photo impaired, so I can only look at these marvelous contributions.

FrankB, this is another one that is a rollerball (I went through a period where I got fed up with the new fountain pens I bought now working correctly, and just bought the RB equivilent-something I regret nowadays).

It is very beautiful, but another mistake I made was not buying the version that has the silver trim. I have gotten rid of my of my gold trim pens. I just fell in love this with color. I think it is called Vesuvius.

I don't see them up for sale much either, and I can only guess that they were a fairly limited edition.

Hello,

I just wanted to give a quick update to one of my favourite threads here.

If you compare this pic with the post #31 you will understand that a lot of work has been done this year!

I am especially proud of my last purchase: the Paragon old style. I will ink it in this weekend for the first time to use it throughout the workweek.

Have a nice week end everybody from the Italian forum!
