Full Version: Lamy 2000 leak

I am not a number
I bought a previously cherished (used) Lamy 2000 which had developed a novelty leak from between the silver and black sections of the grip. Has anyone experienced this particular variant of the Lamy Leak issue?

Any advice would be gratefully received!

Hi,

This is not the first time that happened. It has to be ultrasonically cleaned and then, the thing has to be sealed with capt' Tolley's creeping crack cure.

Otherwise, send it to Lamy Germany.

Thanks Dillon!

I guess it will be a trip to Germany for it then...

Just a thought...have you ever considered taking your pens OUT of your pocket before engaging in violent physical activities? hmm1.gif

I like to retain the ability to instantly jot down a few bons mots for later use in my memoirs.

Captain Tolley's should work. But the pen doesn't have to go back to Germany - the service in the US is handled by Filofax, and their repair guy Bob is really good. 1-800-345-6798, Ext. 0.

Germany may be closer to England than USA...

I had 2 Lamy 2K sent to Lamy Germany (one for nib exchange, one for ink flow problems - was an ebay purchase. Both for new caps). They are very helpful and competent, but they charge 25,- Euro service fee.

In my case it was worth the 25,- Euro because new cap and repair or new cap and nib exchange for 25,- Euro was a good deal.

Point taken - but isn't there a service center or distributor in the UK?

Thanks everyone for the steers toward getting a repair done.

I e-mailed Lamy last night and this morning there was a reply saying that if I sent it to them in Germany they would repair it for free!

I am honestly amazed at the speed of their response and very generous offer. If that is how they treat owners of their products then they have truly converted me!
