Just reminded me of when I went to a job interview in Rugby once (GEC) - the answer to the question "What do you do for a night out in Rugby?" was "Go to Coventry!".

Since when has Rugby been part of the West-country?

Ah ha!....me too - I bought a Montblanc Starwalker pen on E-bay - around £30 I think - said it would take both rollerball and fibre tip refills - when I got it, it only took ball pen refills - as it was a fake, I didn't hesitate and took a diamond file to it and managed to open the nib end aperture a little more and now the MB fibretip refills fit.

However, be warned, the rubber/metal seems to have a nasty habit of getting, how shall I put it, "sticky", and I'm forever trying to wipe it clean - looks like the (very) thin layer of rubber is actually peeling off!!???

Anyway, you'll get some great help and advice here - I love it!! Welcome!

Sad way to learn about MBs but best to buy only from reputable dealers, if the price looks too good to be true, it usually is.
Hopefully the forums will help you avoid similar mistakes in future.

@penladyuk The one I bought was a really good copy. Obviously it fell down on the clip (folded metal)but the weight and feel of the pen were great. As long as you didnt expect too much from the nib,it was useable.
Ive heard there was a big siezure in Spain last week of luxury counterfiet goods. Montblanc was a featured item. In the UK, theres alot of Starwalkers turning up on a 'buy-it-now' basis for as little as £30.

So be wary!
