I am looking for pen body. I have a Sheaffer Imperial (it may be a Triumph perial) with the following markings. The nib is a medium inlaid. It has SHEAFFER (not Sheaffer's) printed across the top. The acronym USA appears vertically along the'v' of the inlay. I situate the pen, based upon a variety of anecdotal rssources as a product of the period between 1968 and1972. On the barrel it states SHEAFFER MADE IN USA and on the inner seal (the part that secures the nib feed and the inner mechanisms) is printed 869T9. The barrel was damaged by a burning cigarette. There is a great story about the pen's history but I will refrain for now for the sake of brevity. My hope is to replace the damaged part and use it as a daily writer. The body is black acrylic with silver band and highlights. Does ayone have such a pen (or parts) that he would be willing to part with.

Got a picture of the damaged original? Sheaffer had so many variations of the same model that a picture would help. Is it a cartridge/converter or touchdown filler? They made essentially the same pen in both versions.

It is a cartridge/converter. I will post a photo soon. It has a squared cap but the end is rounded (not tapered like the pfm).
