This is a crop of a scan that I've shown elsewhere, but I think it's pretty important for it to get its own attention. Djinn of the Eternal Flame (formerly known as Devil Red, a Swisher's Eternal exclusive from Swisher Pens) vs Empire Red, two Eternal reds by Noodler's. What's the difference? I coudn't help myself, I had to find out; no one has compared them yet. I just might break down and get Esenin too to compare, but I really don't need any more ink. I don't I don't I don't!!!

Click on the picture to get to my Picasa album and zoom in even more. You will see that Empire is pinker, or closer to a medium red... but paler. Djinn is darker (but not SO dark!! still pale powdery bulletproof kind of color) but has a purplish/brownish cast. I prefer Empire... But I've been mixing with Djinn because I have more of it. (Another reason I got Djinn was because I was tearing through the bottle of Empire and new a second Eternal Red was inevitable)... Lately I've been mixing these approx 1:1 with either Widowmaker, or Habanero, to make my own vibrant near-bulletproof colors. The pinkishness of Empire goes nicely if you mix with an off-center red like Tiananmen or Antietam. It'll make those colors closer to "real red", while lending some waterproofness. You can find my mixtures in scans elsewhere, or even in the Picasa album.

The pen used was a Caran d'Ache Ecridor, F.

Thanks for the close-up comparison! So that's where Devil Red went.
