Full Version: Best "standard" blue in cartridges?

I have received a Montblanc 145 Chopin and I'm using the original Montblanc cartridges (I believe the color is Royal Blue). However, since I have to buy some more ink, I was trying to make a decision about brands and colors.

According to Richard Binder (http://www.richardspens.com/?page=ref_info/inks.htm), the best "low maintenance" inks are from Waterman and Diamine. Is this true from your experience?

What alternatives do you recommend?

Thanks!

Waterman Florida Blue, or Parker Quink Blue...

I assume you're looking for short international cartridges. If so, I would suggest Stypen cartridges. I purchased some of these (in blue) a while back and I'm very happy with the color and behavior. The blue is deep and rich.

In international cartridges I prefer Waterman blue, available in both long and short formats. I also like Diamine Royal Blue but it is a light blue, almost turquoise. I am not too keen on Pelikan royal blue. OMAS blue is my favorite color. Visconti is probably good but I haven't tried it.

All in all I'd go with Waterman. It flows well and is gentle on all pens.

Bought some Waterman Florida Blue... let's see how it works.

Thanks for all the suggestions.

Cheers!

I haven't tried it in an MB, but it is one of my favorite inks.
