Hi,

I'm a long-time fountain pen user ("Is that a pen or a ballpoint?"). I live in Calgary, spend my working hours committing journalism and my non-working hours on family, reading, avoiding garden chores and so on.
I only realized a while ago that I have more than 10 fountain pens. It's up to 16 . . . three vintage and the rest inexpensive modern reliable writers.

Welcome! I believe you'll find this a wonderful place as I have. Our ink reviews are amazing! I like that "Is that a pen or a ballpoint?" laugh.gif

Hello Mac, and welcome to the Fountain Pen Nuthouse!! I am sure that you will love it here and don't be surprised if you don't happen to double or triple your collection of fine writing instruments over the next year or so.

Hi Mac and welcome to FPN! biggrin.gif

We have quite a few Canadians here on FPN but most are from Ontario (no shock--it's the largest province).
I live in Vancouver but there are a few other members from western Canada here. FPNner "Rowdy" (Kent) is from Calgary I believe and "Keith with a Capital K" (still AWOL) is north of you, in Edmonton. Too bad the nearest pen show is Portland, eh? sad.gif

Well, nice to have you on board. Hope you like it here (I think you will smile.gif )

Hi Mac.! Boy, your name sounds like some strong Scottish heritage along the line.

If you're implying that you have some sort of self imposed limit of 10 pieces for your accumulation, this board will sorely test your commitment.. ohmy.gif Look, if you just make the small adjustment up to 20, you can go out and acquire 4 more right away! This kind of arithmetic, I can do. laugh.gif

Nice to have you here. Have fun!

Welcome Mac;

Good to see another Calgarian in the community. Here I thought I was the only one

Welcome to FPN. Been awhile since I posted here or much on PT. Haven't had the time and PT is getting goofy.

If you ever want to meet up and talk pens let me know. Anyways welcome.

Thanks, Roger and others for the welcome,

Some Scottish heritage a long time ago, but since you get your name from your father's father's fathers' fathers' and so on . . . . I'm mostly not Scottish, ancestor-wise. I'm a Canadian mutt. The only thing that seems to have stuck along with the name is the oatmeal addiction. smile.gif
There's not really self-imposed limit of 10 pieces on my collecting, it's just that someone related to me by marriage looks askance at the hobby. An otherwise wonderful person, she thinks that one or maybe two fountain pens are all a person needs. sad.gif
So I have to judicious about this.

Cheers
Mac
(my daily users today were a Sheaffer Prelude with cursive italic nib by Pendemonium, loaded with a blend of blue-black ink, and a Wality 77 with a fine nib loaded with Sheaffer brown ink)
