Hi all,

I am a new member to this forum, but i need some help embarrassed_smile.gif . I am trying to find a supplier in the UK or online who has elco writing paper, I have found shops here that sell the envelopes but are not helpful at all when you ask them if they could get hold of some writing paper for you as well.

Does anyone have any suggestions for where i could try?

thanks john

Hi there,

I have here the Elco Classic Toilé (blue) and the Elco Classic Vergé (green) in packs of 10 A4 sheets (100 gr). They are a fine swiss mill and i work with them frequently and all their range. Just let me know what you are trying to find and maybe i could help you from here (Europe).

I just bought some Elco paper today, so I searched for "Elco" and found this thread.

There is a stationary shop I came across today in Vienna that sells the entire line of Elco writing paper and envelopes -- including the large cards with deckled edges and matching envelopes, in white and cream. They even have a line of envelopes where the packaging is illustrated with a FP nib -- indicating that they are guaranteed not to feather with fountain pens. I bought several packs of different papers, around 3-4eur each, plus a pack of envelopes.

The paper is great! It is thick, luxurious, and not like any other paper I've tried before. It is similar in density to Clairefontaine, but softer and not slippery. It is similar in some ways to Crane's, but without the texture (my pens hate Crane's texture). The three kinds I bought are: velum finish A5, silk finish A5, and A6 cards with deckled edges. My pens love them all. I think I've found my writing paper!

The shop is called Stoeger

I think that they would be able to take an order and deliver abroad.

I have found A4 and smaller size tablets of Elco paper at the Wäser shop in Zürich, but I have seen them nowhere else. The recycled paper tablets are perfect for FP use--thin, no feathering and absolutely no bleed through. It's a pity I can't find it anywhere in the US. Generally American paper is of much poorer quality than almost anything I have seen in Europe.

Agreed. In Vienna I can buy generic writing pads with lined, blank or grid paper starting with prices under 1€, and going all the way to 2€, depending on size. The paper is 100% FP safe.
