Hi,

I've been collecting fountain pens, on and off, for a few years now, but have only now gotten around to joining the FPN. Thanks to some sort of software glitch, that process took a couple of days. But thanks to the determined efforts of administrator Gerry, it worked. thumbup.gif

So, what do I collect? Anything with a flex nib. Anything with an oblique/stub/calligraphic nib. Anything that holds a few gallons of ink per fill (eyedropper-fillers, crescent-fillers, twist-fillers). Anything that looks kinda sorta like an Eversharp Skyline (Waterman Phileas, Aurora Ipsilon, and like that there). Esties and Pelikans. Anything from a marque not already in my collection that won't force me to declare bankruptcy. rolleyes.gif

Other than that, it's great to be here. If any of you know of pen meetings or shows near Seattle these days, kindly let me know.

Cheers,
Mark

Hi Mark,

Welcome to FPN!

You collect much as I do - fun vintage writers that don't completely break the bank!

There's a great little pen collector's group in Seattle. I don't have contact info on this computer, but will PM you with it later. Someone in or near Seattle may get this to you before I do. It seems they meet the third Thursday of each month. I'm in Spokane, so haven't made it to one of their meetings yet, although I know a few of the regulars.

There's also a wonderful pen show in Portland in July.

Glad to see you here!

Cheers,
Tom

Hi, Mark, and welcome to FPN. smile.gif

I'm sure you're going to enjoy FPN. Lots of good information here. I'm enjoying my first oblique nib. Now I wish I could turn all my pens into obliques!

Hi Mark,

Welcome to FPN! biggrin.gif

You're fortunate to live in a city that has such an active pen club. Up here in Vancouver (B.C), we try to meet 4 times a year, but Seattle's pen club has monthly meetings smile.gif

Also, you're closer to the wonderful annual Portland Pen Show (which is scheduled for July 11 - 13, 2008)

Greetings Mark,

You live in an interesting city. My wife is from Sequim, up toward Port Angeles. I have visited Seattle with her once. I loved the Pikes Place Market. The World Import store was great, too. We have World Import here; but, they do not carry the imported beers. crybaby.gif

Hello, and Greeting from just over the hill-and-canal in Wallingford!

If you are interested in seeing some other nice pens, do stop by the Seattle Pen Club. I will try to post an official notice later this week, but the next meeting will be Saturday, January 19th from 11:00am to 1:00pm at the community room at the Third Place Books commons in Lake Forest Park Center. It sound like your collection will fit right in.
