Just passing along the info in an email from our President, Tim ("West End Tim" here on FPN):

Our next pen meeting will be:

Date: Thursday, 17 January 2008
Time: 6:00 for happy hour/meet & greet (or go next door and grab a sandwich and a drink); at
6:30, the meeting will officially come to order
Location: Perks Pens, 5844 Cambie Street between 42nd and 43rd Ave (on the East side of the road)
Theme: Your favourite writing pen

We'll try to wrap up by 8:30. So bring the pen you most enjoy writing with for show and tell.

Just wanted to add that there is ample free parking behind Perks, and that food & drink are welcome in the store during the meeting. Oh, and the meeting starts at 6:00 PM (wink.gif )
We have no membership fees or dues, there is no need to RSVP (unless you want to---just send me a PM), and no obligation to attend future meetings (or buy anything from the Perks store wink.gif ). We're a friendly, laid-back bunch, so please don't worry if your pen collection is small...as long as you have a lot of enthusiasm for the hobby, you are more than welcome! biggrin.gif

Hope to see a good turnout!

Ha, my first RSVP is from Toronto---whoohoo! laugh.gif

But seriously......You are more than welcome to attend any of our meetings, goodguy! I am ready to name you as an honorary member of the Vancouver Pen Club at this point wink.gif

I'm going to do my best to be there! It all depends on whether I can figure out transportation though (I usually take transit to work, but bussing home from Oakridge afterwards might not be such a good idea...)
Maja
Just a little reminder about the meeting tonight. Bring your pens (including your "favourite writer") to Perks at 6:00pm for a 'meet & greet' followed by the meeting, which starts at 6:30pm.... smile.gif

Dang it! I ended up staying late at the office scrambling to finish something... I didn't end up finishing, but it should allow me to meet my deadlines tomorrow sad.gif Hope everyone had fun!
Maja
Goldkiwi and Barry (bman40), sorry you couldn't make it to the meeting; I know what it's like having to miss events because of work. I can't count the # of family dinners, concerts, etc. I had to skip when I worked in retail pharmacy... sad.gif

In any case, the good news is that the next meeting will be held in February (not March; looks like monthly meetings are feasible; we were originally going for bi-monthly ones). We plan to have it at the same Perks store on Cambie St., but we need to pick a time. Please watch for a new thread in the "Clubs, Meetings and Events" forum here on FPN for more details in the weeks to come.... smile.gif
