Hello to everybody,

I'm quite new to english, so I hope you will forgive me for my poor language.

I'm a pen collector from around 1993, but I started to look at them over the internet just recently. I heard about FPN some time ago, but I looked at it carefully only today and what I found is really wonderful!

My main interests are old fountain pens and fountain pen history.

For my first isterest I'm helping to organize the Florance Pen Festival (it will be held in Florence the 1 and 2 of March), where I hope I will find some new pens, and also some new friend!

For the second interest I created a wiki at www.FountainPen.it, where I'm putting all I know about fountain pens (it' not so much) and all the material I collected in those years. Unfortunately it's only in italian (I'm not good enough to write it in english...) but it's managed in the Wikipedia style (I'm using the same software and the same licence) so any help will be welcome (just ask me if you want an account for write access).

That's all, now I have just to dig some more inside the forums...

Simone

Ciao e benvenuto sul forum!
Hi & welcome on FPN!
I was looking that website some times ago, I've found it very interesting and now I'm happy to meet the author.
I'm sure you'll enjoy here.

Welcome! Your English is much better than my Italian. If my wife and I had to pick a favorite city anywhere in the world, it would be Florence. We love your city and the Tuscany region! Best wishes for success in the Florence Pen Festival.

Yay, some pages that'll help me pick up more Italian!

(You're missing Stipula on those pages, I think.)

Welcome!

Welcome!

I hope they will be useful for you.

I'm missing a lot of brands (and some cited on the wiki are just a name), but my choice was to concentrate in historical brands. Stipula is form 1973 (at least they say so), and this is a little too recent for me... I don't dislike modern pens, but before starting writing about them I'd like to have a more complete

But this can be a very interesting question, i.e. when you can consider a brand to be historical?

ops, I'm still unpratical with the posting system... I must have removed a piece of test when editing it...

I was meant to say:
I'd like to have a more complete info about the historical ones.

Hi and welcome to FPN. In regards to your wiki site, a member of FPN started the same thing here focusing on vintage and it's called Penpedia. Already, a lot in common!!!!!!!

Welcome! My wife and I loved Florence the most out of our 14 day European vacation. The food, people and sites provided the most romantic and enjoyable experience. I truly look forward to returning.

Enjoy your FPN experience!

P.S. If you ever feel inclined, I would love to see some pictures of Florence again.

Welcome to FPN, spic.

I too love Florence and would like to go back this year. Didn't get a chance to visit the Bargello...

Welcome to FPN Simone. There is already a wide Italian community here!
I am interested too in history of Italian FP producers. Do you have the beautiful "history of Italian FP 1900 - 1950" by Letizia Jacopini? She got a personal website (though not update since long time) where additional info and research are published:

Unfortunately the first week of March I'll be out of Italy. But I'd like to visit the "Alpe Adria" pen show in Trieste in May.

Ciao,
