I have a Wellington with Binderized cursive italic nib on order, but may have to wait as much as 3 months for it

I wondered if anyone can comment on these pens, just to keep my appetite whetted, and maybe to encourage other would-be purchasers.

I have one. I bought mine from Richard Binder as well, but I did not have the nib customized as I normally would. I ordered it with an Italic Fine which Richard of course made sure was perfect out of the box. I ordered it in Classic Brown and it is absolute perfection. The material, although resin, rivals the look (and oddly, the feel) of celluloid. It is stunning.

I was going to ask Richard to remove the brass insert to lighten the pen a bit for me, but I'm glad I didn't ask for this customization. I figured if the pen proved to be too, I could ask him to do it at a later time. The pen does indeed have heft, but it helps to slow down my writing tremendously -- thus, arguably, making my writing a bit neater.

As I'm sure you've already noted:
-- The cap on the Wellington is curved outwardly, which at first looked strange to me, but it adds an interesting visual element to the pen.
-- The pen is only available with a c/c filling system.
-- The pen, uncapped, is slightly shorter than the Duro.

I don't have time to do a full-review, but I hope this helps.

I have one. The Black Whirl, medium nib, straight out of box. Looks great, feels great and writes great. So far very happy with purchase.

Bought from Jim Sanders. Poohcornerpens .com, Really nice guy to deal with.

I just do not have patience required to do regular review.

But we are, it seems waiting for that first 'in-depth', with pics and samples...... what has been said so far does seem encouraging.

As you suggested, Kate, I am hoping that a bit of extra weight will give it a bit of 'inertia' and steady my wobbly hand a bit!
I find light (and thin) pens very difficult to control.

One of the few things I recall about the CS FPs I had in my dim-and-distant youf was that the clips which went right to the top of the pen(don't know the tech term!) were a pain when they came loose.
Fortunately the Wellington doesn't have that type of clip.

It's also nice(and quite surprising, IMO) to read that a pen in this price-range has all solid gold, not plated, 'fittings'.

And I just love those big elegant nibs
