OK -- this is technically not a repair Q, but I thought this was probably the most appropriate place to post the question.

I have several Stipula Duetto fountain pens. I noticed recently that the cap on the Cognac Duetto looks like it has a crack or is developing a crack. (Thankfully, the caps on the Blue and Red ones are in perfect shape.)

It was difficult enough to find the Duetto in the Cognac colour, so I'm not putting much hope in finding a replacement cap soon. However, I've noticed a few Duetto Cognac rollerballs come up on eBay. I was wondering if anyone knows if the Duetto caps are interchangeable. I realize that there is also the issue of the existence of the inner cap, where none would exist in a roller ball cap -- but if at least the dimensions of both caps are compatible, will removing the inner cap in the FP cap and installing it the RB cap be possible?

Hi Kate,

You'd have to check whether they are machined the same on the inside. Some fountain pen caps have inner lips which the BP caps don't have.

If I get a chance Friday or Saturday, I'll try to check it with one of my favourite pen stores .
