Does anyone know where I can get a clip fand jewel for this 1946 vac? Should this be a blue diamond clip? I've seen gold ones but not silver. Also, the jewel just spins and won't unscrew.

Based on the capband that should be a Blue Diamond Major clip. The clip you will probably have to find a donor pen for but the jewel can be found at Woodbin You can email Martin to see if he has a spare clip, but I am not sure how much stock of old parts he has anymore.

Cheers,
Sean

Does the jewel spin or rather the clip remnant?

If i have spare black jewels (oriignals) will sell around $13.

Clips if have spare (have more gold tone than chrome, but might have a chrome major) $24 for a reasonable grade example.

hafta look

cheers.

Think you are right Mr. Isaacson. The remnant is spinning, can't get the jewel to budge. I've been trying the rubber jar opener w/ no luck. Scared to get too aggressive.

jewel's can be tough. Given that i live "down the street" from Moderator of repair forum Ron Zorn, if you need the pen restored and need parts, i strongly suspect he can get the jewel out. Worst case i guess drill the thing out. I can provide the needed parts (though there will be charge for 'em of course), assuming have a spare nickel trim clip.
