Although there's a few interlopers, I have truly fell in love with CS over the past year or two. All are modern c/c fillers. Not shown (but have posted in the past): Ebonite 286, Model 75 in green marble, and a modern Dinky in Quartz Blue (all with med. nibs).

I'm truly not a photographer.

1. Danitrio Densho Raw Ebonite; med. flexy nib
2. Red/Black Ebonite; med. (Bexley) nib (thanks Brian G!)
3. Stipula Etruria; stubbed
4. CS Dandy "Opal"; fine nib
5. CS Dandy "Classic Brown"; med. nib
6. CS Dandy "Azure"; med. nib
7. CS Dandy "Fresian"; stubbed
8. CS 58 "Dartmoor"; med. nib
9. CS 58 "Quartz Blue"; med. nib
10. CS 58 "Patriot"; med. nib
11. CS Duro white casein; fine italic nib
12. CS Duro "Tiffany Yellow" casein; med. nib

Wishing all a Happy 2008,

Paul

That's a nice collection of modern CSs. Often wondered about how easy the white/Ivory Cassein would be to clean if you got ink on it bearing in mind you shouldn't get then too wet.

Do you use them regularly or are they mainly for show?

Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Andy. I'm fairly careful of ink staining any of my pens. However, both casein pens seems to have a 'coating' on it, so I'm certain they would wipe off easily should this occur.

TRUST ME when I say this: I'm not a collector; all my pens are **users** (none are even "home office queens"). On the other hand, I've always been fairly careful with my possessions so, in the case of my pens, all are in pristine shape as well.

My best,

Paul

With the casein materials I think the issue is allowing the pen to soak in water as opposed to preventing it ever getting wet. Split coffee or a wipe to remove ink will not cause it to distort (otherwise it wil react to moisture from the hand and so not be a suitable material from which to make a pen!). The older casein CS pens have been around for a long time now confirming the suitability of this interesting material.

(I can certainly vouch for that soaking a casein pen will completely ruin it!)

Well, Paul, for not truly being a photographer, as you say, that picture looks mighty "Dandy" if you ask me! smile.gif

Thank you for sharing!

Deirdre, that's great! -- which one did you decide on?
