Hi. New. Actually registered yesterday.

I have a couple dozen FPs, mostly no-name, hand-turned, wooden pens I love looking at and writing with. I did, however, just add a Parker Sonnet Ruby Red and a Pelikan M320 Jade over the last 2 days. I'm looking forward to ferreting out all your knowledge!

Welcome aboard FPN. You'll find lots of great pen advice and plenty of general chatter around here. As we share the same Parker, I thought I'd provide one bit of advice I've learned: watch the Noodler's ink in the Sonnet. Noodler's works perfectly in my other pens, but for some reason the Sonnet just doesn't flow well with it. It's the only ink I've had trouble with in the pen; otherwise, it's a great writer. Oh, I should add that my nib is a fine point.

Happy New Year!

Yes!!! A neighbor!!! Woohoo!! clap1.gif Welcome. I've only been here a couple of days; but, have already found it to be a great place. There seems to be quite a few good people here that are willing to provide advice and helpful information. So, pull up a stool and settle in. Happy New Year!!!

Wooden fountain pen, eh? I had one of those, but it was a lousy...guh. I've always wanted another one, though...does that make me evil?

Thanks for the advice! I have Noodler's on hand and was planning to use it. I believe the nib I got is medium, though. Even so, I'll take this into consideration.

Heheh, I wouldn't necessarily say "evil." I haven't had any problems with my wooden pens, yet, though they certainly aren't Ferrari's, either. Drop me a pm if you ever decide to give in to the dark side again and you decide you want to carry an inexpensive, but decent, wooden pen.

And I know nothing about Sheaffer school pens as listed in your signature, but there are half a dozen of them listed at Ebay from someone out of Canada in various colors all starting at 99 cents. Probably not what you're after, but thought I'd mention it.
