I usually keep 3-4 pens inked at one time and they often sit on my desk. Being on semester break for a couple more days, I decided it was time to try my hand at making my own pen rack. After rummaging thru the basement lumber supply, I came up with an old wood flooring plank, some strips of maple that was once used to build a bow, and some dowels from leftover art projects. The finished product is as you see here. I didn't plan it to come out this way, but it looks like a bug or the skeleton of some odd creature. Oh well. I wasn't going to expect too much from scrap lumber lying around. I also implemented a weighted base to keep the whole thing from tipping over. A series of 12 holes were drilled in the underside and 9mm bullets were glued in place (not the cartridge, just the lead bullet). Makes for a very stable rack. I have another oddly designed rack planned out for the near future. Wood working is fun!

Thanks! Indeed it is. Yeah, not sure what to call those rods that hold the pens. Arms? Tentacles? Ribs?

edit: Chris, it is a Ti 51.

Nice rack! It looks like the end result of a bad date between a centipede and a guillotine.

Edit: J-san, cool avatar! Ichigo Mashimaro is one of my favorite shows!
