Greetings Alfonso,

It would be nice to get to your Madrid Pen Show, someday. smile.gif Cross pollenization of the shows can only help. Do you visit any of the other pen shows?

It took your entry here for me to learn that Kendall is not Italian. I looked at his surname and jumped to the wrong conclusion. sad.gif Wait...maybe his father is Italian. biggrin.gif

Regardless, enjoy the FPN. Much good chat to be had here.

Justiniano is a very common name in Latin America.

Pronounced Hoo-stini-ano so it cannot be Italian. However, many people mistake it for such.

Thanks or Gracias, to all of you. Answering one of the questions, I need to say that I do atttend other Pen Shows. At least NYC Pen Show for 2001,2002,2003 & 2004 and Chicago PEn Show for 2000, 2002.

Unfortunately I could not make the NYC PS 2005, but I will be there in 2006.

Thanks again

Greetings and welcome to FPN! Glad you found us. Sounds like you are very much into the hobby with all the show traveling you do. Could you tell us a little bit about your vintage Conklin collection?

Looking forward to seeing you around the boards and getting to know you better.

¡Hola, Alfonso, y bienvenido al Red de Plumas Estilográficas!

¿Tienes otras estilográficas, o solamente las Conklin? ¿Cuáles tintas y tipos de plumines prefieres?

(Excuse my rather weak Spanish; I'm working on it wink.gif )

Alfonso, greetings and welcome to the FPN! biggrin.gif When you have time, please tell use more about the Madrid Pen Show and share some photos and the Web site on the event. I have a friend of mine that may end up in Madrid who is a Spanish major in college. She likes calligraphy pens and equipment. I am sure she would attend the show.

Greetings and welcome to FPN!  Glad you found us.  Sounds like you are very much into the hobby with all the show traveling you do.  Could you tell us a little bit about your vintage Conklin collection?

Southpaw, my Conklin collection has several hundred pieces, various catalogs and copys of catalogs and more than 250 vintage Conklin adds. I also have original trays and desk pen bases. In last year edition of the Madrid Pen Show, more than 125 pieces or my collection were show in an impresive Oak original display.

I have crescents in gold and silver filigree, gold cescent overlays, Red & Black Hard rubber crescents, black hard rubber crescents, Enduras, symetrics, Nozacs, Ensembles, Chicago's,..., most of them with the matching pencils and hundreds of parts.

I have been collecting Conklins for the las 10 years. I also collect vintage vest pockets pen and pencils by PArker (duofolds), Sheaffer, Wahl Eversharp, & Waterman.

JeffTL, my favorite ink is the vintage pelikan in blue and Black, and I prefer Italic and stubb nibs ruther that fine or broad ones.

Mannenhitsu, the website is a very very simple one with only a bit of information of th show, but unfortunately, don't have time to do something better, please visit www.madridpenshow.com.

If some of you can give me a hand with how to upload the pictures, I will apreciate. Contact me backwards to alfonso.mur@terra.es.

Thanks to all for such an impresive reception

Hi Alfonso,

welcome to FPN. We'll be in Europe atthe time of the show... I wonder if I can convince my wife to take the train to Madrid... she has said several times she wanted to visit Spain, and she did not say anything about not going to a pen show biggrin.gif

Denis.

¡Hola Alfonso! Saludos de parte de otro español. Aunque nací en Estados Unidos, mis padres son españoles (de Canarias).

Hello Alfonso and welcome to FPN! biggrin.gif

Sorry I don't know much Spanish (we learned French in school up here in Canada) but I did have the opportunity to visit your beautiful country in 1998 when my husband and I visited my relatives in beautiful Barcelona. We would love to visit Madrid and see the Prado (among other things) and also visit the southeast part of the country to see where some of those famous Sergio Leone spaghetti westerns were filmed. smile.gif
