I'm interested in a decent-quality 2-pen (or 3-pen?) case that has hard sides. I am currently wrapping 2 or 3 pens in bubble wrap and sticking them in a eyeglasses case in my briefcase (Levenger Stanley Traveler, which is soft-sided) but would like a hard-sided pen case that's more purpose-built and could alleviate me from bubble wrap.

Your thoughts?

Hello,
try the Aurora Cases P 105 Torino or P 106 Torino. Waterman and Montblanc also make some hard cases.

The Levenger Pen Parapet probably fits the bill.

I have a 4 finger cigar case (I think it's made of leather covered wood as it is pretty solid), they also come in 2 finger version mine can hold any size pen up to and including a modern CS 100, so uless you have particularly large pens they will fit.

I enthusiastically second that recommendation. I have both the 2-pen and the 4-pen Levenger Pen Parapet and their quality and durability are excellent. I've carried them in my handbags every day since April, and they still look brand-new.

Does the double Levenger Pen Parapet have an internal divider, to keep the pens apart, like the quad evidently does (see pictures, it's pretty self-evident)? It looks like the two-pen just sticks them in there to rattle around against one another. I could always stick a purpose-cut piece of firm cardboard or felt in there, I guess ...

I have a Montblanc two-pen case, with divider. It is a workhorse. Fits any pen. Very stiff leather and a firm full-length divider keep this case strong.

wolverine had recommended the otter cigar case--they are sold by amazon.com. holds any size pens. look it up.

Yes, the double Levenger Pen Parapet also has an internal divider. It is just like the quad in design, only made for two pens instead of four. Pens definitely do not rattle around in it, but are each snuggly enclosed in its own compartment.

Thanks for the info! Don't like the Aurora (looks too soft; also, all suppliers whom I could find said it was hard to get hold of, might be out of stock) and, though the Otter looks utterly indestructible, it's not what I'm looking for. Waterman and Mont Blanc seem more expensive, and also soft-sided. So I'm off to Levenger.com to spend holiday money ...

Got my Levenger 2-pen "Parapet" about a week ago, I like it good enough. It doesn't make me swoon. I'd expected something a bit more luxurious, like maybe smelling of old cologne and saddle leather and squealing like Betty Boop when I opened its flaps ... (erm, hello Freud? Dr. Freud?) ... but it certainly works well. So far.

Ridiculously over-packaged. A bigger box, with a free sample of their rolo-dex cards (and these 2-inch items were shrink-wrapped to a 6-inch piece of cardboard), plus its own littler box (with its own attached self-strapping elastic band), inside which was also a pamphlet about their superior leather products. All swaddled in tons of pillow-bubble plastic. Must have been about two cubic inches more landfill space than necessary.

I was just looking for this topic. I have a Cross hardside two pen case. It is metal with foam inside that molds to the pen or pens. However, I have been unable to find one on the internet so they may no longer be available.

An alternative could be a plastic watertight glasses case like the one here: [post="watertight case"]http://www.thewaterproofstore.com/wraparoundcase.html[/post] It should be large enough to hold two pens and padding to protect them.

I have a MB case just like that, and can vouch for it's strength. Your pens will be well-protected.

While I was browsing ebay I found this guy...looks as though it has the potential to be useful.

I have been using this montegrappa lamb skin case during my travels and it is apt for the job. It is basically a case (i.e. "hard") pen case with zipper, two slots for cartridges and even a compartment for a polishing cloth all compactly designed. I have one word for it, and that is "civilized"!

Here's a picture.

One word ... "Venlo". Check it out. For all that I've had, this is by far the best. And, it ages really nicely.

For a really good hard-sided two pen case, take a large eyeglass case, put velcro inside, then put the other half of the velcro on the back of a soft leather two-pen case, and stick it inside, mating the two velcro surfaces. The best of both worlds. I did this on the outside of my Moleskine knockoff notebook, and it works like a champ. Pics are here, here, and here
