I've got a J that needs some minor repairs (new sac, etc). Since I have no experience doing this and the pen has some sentimental value, I'd rather not risk doing it myself. Can someone recommend a good source for this kind of work?
Thanks,
Sam.

The good news is that you have the one pen that I can say from experience is easy to fix for a beginner - even *I* have fixed one!
In Virginia, you also have an active pen club and I bet that someone there could help you fix it yourself.
If you do want to send it away, I recommend Ron Zorn at www.mainstreetpens.com. There are other repairers, including Joel Hamilton & Sherrel Tyree of Inkpen that I recommend too, and of course Richard Binder for nib work, but Ron's turn-around could be a lot quicker.
If you were to come to the Philadelphia Pen Show in January you could have your choice of several repairers, including Ron, who could do it for you on the spot, not to mention that you'd probably find a couple of other nice pens there.

Thanks for the recommendations.
I realize I could probably make the repairs myself but I would rather not "learn" on this particular pen, so I guess that will have to wait until I have some "practice" pens available. I would love to learn to do it, just not on this pen.
I'm negotiating with my wife about the Philadelphia Show. I've never been to one and I really want to go, but work and family....well, you know.
