Hi Wahl-Eversharp collectors,
I've just succesfuly equipped 2 Doric plunger fillers with a dedicated version of my "additional" fountainbel plunger rod cartridge.
This approach is a technical sound alternative for the (questionable) installation of a rubber plug.
Two Orings on the rod - having a grease reserve in between them- ensures long functionality at low friction, hence low wear on the sealing elements.
The existing rod seal remains untouched, after removing the section one slides the new cartridge simply in the barrel.
No machining, no gluing in place : an external Oring seals in the barrel a provides sealing & axial fixation.
I've also made me a dedicated punching tool to make perfectly dimensioned & fully concentric Urethane piston seals.
You can read all details of my cartridges on the excellent Penpedia site.
Wishing you all a healthy and prosperous 2008 & lots of fun with your pens !
Francis
