Hi,I am a newbie member of this very educational forum and even though I have scoured it to find out about removing the feed and nib for a proper clean of my recently acquired mont blanc turbo I am still not sure whether I can pull it out or whether it is threaded into the section or whether there is some sort of sealing that I might break.
I have tried the advice re soaking etc but the inkflow is just terrible and the lady from whom I bought it said it was in a drawer for many years. It wrote well initially but then packs up...if I squeeze the cartdridge it writes again for a litttle while and stops again.
I want to tackle this job but do not want to break or damage the pen.
Also this may be a really dumb question but is it necessary to remove the little decorative band on the bottom of the section to remove the feed?
I have tried screwing this off and it won't budge...maybe it is not even screwed on.
Help!

Hi,

It's a very tight friction fit. I would recommend, soaking the nib section in cool water overnight instead of taking apart the section because the risk for damaging it is very hign. No, you do not need to remove the trim ring near the nib. That is supposed to be glued and/or threaded on and is not meant to come off.

Thanks Dillo but I already tried that to no avail.I suspect that there may be built up gunk on the feed, that is why I am keen to remove feed. However I have not tried ammonia/water mix yet as I am waiting for shops to open to get some ammonia.
If the ammonia/water mix does not work I have no option but to take it out,do I?
