Hello all,

I thought I might introduce myself as I have just registered... I am a student in physics and as such do a great deal of writing. My hand, however, is abysmal in the extreme. Fatigue is a constant issue, and recently my thumb has taken to tingling during long stints. I wish to remedy this, and have set about doing so... thank you for all the helpful information smile.gif

Sincerely,
Sacha

Welcome to FPN.

Welcome Sacha. I too have problems with myhands- suffered severe nerve damage. I take breaks while writing, and ocassionally massage my hands. That helps stop the pain, the tingling and the pins-and-needles type of sensations.
Best of Luck.
Where are you studying Physics at?

Welcome! You'll find the proper writing implement will make ALL the difference during those marathon sessions.

Your start of using a fountain pen is good. I'd almost bet you rare 'finger writing' rather than using your whole arm. A little time spent paying attention to properly writing using the whole arm when doing homework will bring large rewards. The forearm muscles move little when properly writing.

Welcome Sacha! This forum will provide relief from studying physics!
I am not a number
And there I was all set for a discussion on the role of Bose-Einstein condensates in the Lane-Emden equation...

Just kidding, I was a physics student once but now I'm all betterer!

Welcome to FPN.

A good pen will help... but writing will always be hard work!

Hail Ron smile.gif Indeed -- my form is terrible. My posture, hold, movement... all appalling. I have started drilling basic italics with a proper hold and find it far more pleasing. Hopefully I may return to my former speed eventually. smile.gif
