Full Version: Cracked section -- successful repair?

I have a Wearever Pacemaker with a cracked section, which I understand is not that uncommon. The crack is a short hairline at the nib end of the section. I would not even have seen it except that I kept getting ink on my fingers and started searching for the source. <_<

So is it likely that I can bond the section with acetone successfully and have no more problems from that crack? Or is the stress put on a section great enough that I might as well look for an undamaged one?

Thanks,
BruceW
Richard
Any section that has a press-fit nib and feed, including that of the Pacemaker, is subject to sufficient tensile stress that no known adhesive will hold it securely, and even fusing a Pacemaker's section can't produce a repair strong enough to be reliable. it's not worth the effort to try -- just find a replacement. sad.gif
