Pen Nut
So in an attempt to 'thin out' an ever increasing collection and still in search of that certain pen I sold my Conway Stewart Westminster Vermeil via the marketplace yesterday...... Mrs.Nut was pleased at my effort to get rid of yet another high end pen which had seen no use and had plans for the money coming. (not a chance lady)

Just popped in e-bay UK to see how that cheeky little Majesty was going on and guess what? Finger slipped on to the Buy it Now and I await delivery rolleyes.gif

It has mixed reviews from users I know so 'lets just see' is my attitude.

Will let you know when I receive it.

Seasons regards to all

Ian.

I love the Pelikan Souveran series, but I think the Majesty is too expensive for what it is. I bought a limited edition Conway Stewart solid silver Icon 100 for my husband for less money than what the Pelikan Majesty costs, and the CS is the more valuable and more intricately crafted pen. Also, I am not sure I would like the feel of the ribbing on the barrel -- I've had trouble with similarly textured pens in the past.

Having said that, I am a follower of the "to each his own" principle. So if you're crazy about this pen, go for it and I hope you enjoy it. Let us know how you like the pen, and if you feel it was worth the price.

I find the 'worth the price' thing a difficult one to answer in any material item but think I know what you mean.

Its like the question I have been asked many times before "whats the best car in the world" well it all depends on how you define best and what the journey is likely to entail in my opinion.

I have a passion for pens and enjoy the trying, buying & selling of all things associated with the subject. the people in the pen world seem a great bunch as well. Not 'crazy' about the Majesty, was actually bidding on a M1050 at the same time, but feel it needs to be tried. Do admire the workmanship of Pelikans I must admit.

Ownership of some pens I can liken to owning some of the Rolls-Royce range i.e they make two of the happiest days of your life, the one when you buy and the one when you sell !

It's my favorite so far, but I'm hoping The Conway Stewart surpasses it. You should have payment by now.
