hi Pelikan people
I've doubled the size of my flock. I already had a couple Level L5s, and I just recently got a couple of 200 size pens.
I got (by ebay) a used m200. Then right after I got a new m250. The nib on the used 200 is smaller than the gold nib on the new 250.
So, are 200 plated nibs the same size as 250 gold nibs, or are they shorter? And do 150 nib threads really fit the 200 section threads?
If the nibs are supposed to be the same size, and 150 nibs fit, then I guess I got a 150 nib foisted upon me.
For a mostly not useful observation some might not get a chance to see by themselves, the 200 is an anthracite and I put Pelikan blue in. The surface tension is such that the ink hangs upside down, until it all falls down in one blob when tapped or shaken; it beads up. The 250 is an amber I got to use my Skrip King's Gold, and its surface tension is such that it always spreads, yielding the air bubble that can be tipped back and forth to look at.
(the edit is that I clarified the title)

If you visit
Richards's you can go to handcarafted specialty nibs, then to Pelikan nibs, and find the section where there is information about what nib fits which pen, etc.

Yes, I looked at Richards list and picture of Pelikan nibs. That's why I asked about 150 nibs fitting the 200/400 size pens. And it looks like 200 nibs are the same size as the simple 14k 250 nibs. But there's no picture of 150 nibs, so that's why I'm asking to make sure.

Hmm, I was under the impression that the m200 and m250 nibs were the same size. When you unscrew them and set them side by side does the difference hold? Sometimes one will seat out a little more than another. If you carefully look at Binders Pelikan size comparison picture you will see this.

Because one is inked up, I'm measuring from the end of the section to the tip. The two nibs are set equally deep into the section, eyeballing it.
The gold nib shows 2mm.
The plated nib shows 18mm. It's narrower too.
I saw in Richard's picture that a 200 nib has some space between the letter size marking and the logo, just as the 250 here has. The other nib has only just enough of a gap to read.
I think this pen with "original nib" came with a nb original to another pen.
