Does anyone know how to tell the difference between these two pens? Length? Girth? Something else?
lewertowski
The size, the MAN 200 is smaller than the MAN 100, J.M.L.

I also believe that the 100 has a ribbed feed, while the 200 (at least some) has a smooth feed.

Sorry to interrupt this thread, yet I have a question - what does the J.M.L. mean?

I suspected that would be the case. And if I had one of each, it would be a simple thing to figure out which was which. Unfortunately, I only have the one and need some way to to tell the difference. I'll take a look at the feed to see what I can see.

Does anyone know of a site where the measurements of Waterman's is posted?
lewertowski
Hi,
I will measure the 2 models tomorrow and will let you know, but the size are realy different, like an International and a Centennial DUOFOLD, and it is very easy to see the difference even if you have not the 2 models at the some time, I will post the measure of the 2 models tomorrow, J.M.L.

Hi Squelch B

J.M.L. these are the initials of Monsieur J.M.Lewertowski a member here as well as a reputable and respected on line supplier of Watermans, Parkers etc, (see the post above this one) smile.gif

In the meantime, if anyone is interested, the two models are on page 23 of this pen measurement database: http://www.vintagepens.com/pendata.pdf
According to the database, a capped (*not* posted) Man 100 Opera is 144mm long whereas a
Man 200 Rhapsody is only 140mm long....

The Man 100 is a large and delightful pen, in my opinion. It\'s one of my all time favourite pens, infact. I recently purchased one in full silver (1988 edition) and paid a large sum for it, but it was worth it.

Thanks, Maja! That should do the trick. I'll have to add that database to my list of favorites... eureka.gif

You're welcome! I didn't want to step on JML's toes, but I find the database very useful and just wanted to point it out smile.gif

Thanks, I have found the same measures, J.M.L.
