Hello everyone!

I actually just recently got into collecting pens, taking after my father who had an extensive collection. So far I've found it to be a really interesting and enjoyable hobby! I've also been into calligraphy (chinese) for a while (since I'm half Japanese), but recently I started doing calligraphy with english fonts (which I think is much harder!). Anyone else in the Philly area interested in calligraphy? Anyways, thanks for reading!

Welcome to FPN! If you haven't already, check out the penmanship area of FPN there are lots of folks discussing calligraphy and italics in those threads.

I grew up in Philly. Im living in the sunny south now and I don't miss the winters!!

Welcome to FPN! I also grew up in Philly, but am happy to live in sunny San Diego now.

I've also dabbled in Chinese calligraphy for a couple of years. You're right that Western-style calligraphy is much different and requires much more precision.

Lucky you! I miss San Diego weather. After moving from Japan when I was young my parents settled in Del mar near the racetrack. I'm just in Philly for school at penn.
