Fooling around with various refills tonight, I discovered that Pilot G2 Gel Ink refills will fit very nicely in my Waterman Phileas pen body. I think the G2s are better than the original anyway. I imagine other pen nuts like me already know this, but its nice to know I have a desirable option.

Thanks, penartist! This is good to know. I have never liked the way Waterman RB refills write, they are just a little fine and dry for my taste.

Good call- I've actually found that Sheaffer Ballpoint fills write better than Waterman Rollerballs for me.

I thought the same thing about Waterman RB refills. I still have several Waterman RB refills to use up, but when they are gone, I'll use the G2 refills. To be precise that's Product #77240.

Wonderful discovery, isn't it?
It was actually the gift of a Waterman Phileas rollerball that got me into fountain pens 10 years ago. I still have that pen, and a few other rollerball pens--a couple other Phileas pens in different colors, an amber shimmer Waterman Carene, and a ruby Namiki Impressions.
Of course the G2 came standard in the Namiki, which was a pleasant find since I had been using G2 refills in the Watermans for a few years. I think I only bought a Waterman refill once, then found that the G2 fit the Phileas. I have been using G2 refills in all of them for several years now.

I've always kept a G2 refill in my Waterman Hemisphere Rollerball. Much better than the Waterman refills, which are far too dry. Plus the G2 doesn't dry out from being left uncapped!

Does the Waterman Carene RB carry the same refill as the Phileas, and if so, does the G2 refill fit the Carene? That would be nice.
I'm surprised someone write the Waterman refill for Phileas was too dry, I find it perfect. The only thing I don't like about the Carene is that it's too top-heavy if posted, and if unposted it rolls off the table when you put it down. But the Waterman refill has been very satisfactory.

does the G2 refill fit the Carene?
I have been using G2 refills in my Carene for several years, fit just fine.
