Hi everyone,
About a month ago, I discovered the FPN while I am Googling about my leaking Rotring artpen.
Since then, I’ve got a lot of helpful information from FPN and finally became a member.
I own 3 Rotring artpens EF, F, 1.5 calligraphy nib and 2 Lamy joy pens EF, 1.1 calligraphy nib.

Thanks.

Alan

Hi Alan. As a retired art teacher, I did lots of calligraphy for certificates and diplomas. Rotring and Pelikan are my favorite pens for that kind of use. What advice did you get on stopping the leak? My advice would be to get a new cartridge converter.

Thank you for your advice.

Actually, I couldn't find the answer for leaking. I thicken my J. herbin ink and use converter, but it did not solve the problem.
It still drip ink from feed.

I am new here too and don't want to step on any toes. I don't know what advice you have recieved but when a pen leaks the way you describe, it is most likkely because air is getting into the ink supply from some place other than the way it should through the feed. If you have tried a new converter, then the seals must be tight around everything from there. What is left is the section, the nib, the feed and the little protrusion that punctures the cartridge or accepts the converter. Unfortunately that is almost all of the rest of the pen but there must be a loose piece, a crack, a chip or mis aligned part or something that lets the air pressure equalize in the ink chamber. You could replace the nib and see if that works. Unfortunately that is like saying you can fix an automobile by backing it away from the rear view mirror and pulling a new one in it's place. In any case, those are my thoughts on your leaking Rotring. I hope it helps.

PS I wouldn't suggest thickening your ink. That could lead to a leaky pen with serious clogs .
