The client specified uncial as the style of lettering for this wine list, and I'm glad that he did as I think that it worked out pretty well. This is a script that isn't used very often commercially, and it's nice to give it an airing.

Elegant, clear, beautiful -- as usual! Do my eyes deceive me or does this uncial have a slight slant? Whatever it is, it breaths some refreshing modernity into this ancient and revered style. Thanks for posting!

Beautiful. The "d"s (if what I'm thinking are "d"s indeed are), are quite unique, too. I'm wondering if the slight slant was done on purpose, because I have a heck of a time keeping a slant out of my uncial since I usually do a slanted italic.

I've added to the orginal post with an enlarged section and, yes, I see the slight slope, and no, it was not intentional!

I think that the d's come from Friederich Neugebauer whose work I studied fairly intensively at one time.
